SUMMARY
Provides leadership, supervision, and coaching to subordinates, while maintaining overall operations and improvement of the department. Manages daily operations, expands future business, analyzes and corrects problems that arise, supports subordinates' growth, coordinates activities and supports customer needs.Reporting to the Texas Regional Manager, this position is responsible for providing administrative and operational direction to GMI, Inc. Resource and/or Waste Management in processing scrap, recyclable, non-hazardous and hazardous waste generated from the process of building automobiles. This position is responsible for supporting the administrative, operational, and reporting requirements of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas. The responsibilities of this position include assuring the applicability of the Environmental Policy, monitoring overall Environmental Management System (EMS) performance as a member of the Management Review, assuring regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in the protection of the environment and reduction of pollution from the activities within the organization. Responsible for meeting GMI Safety KPIs and OSHA training compliance for the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads and supervises other employees.
- Maintains good relationship with the customer as well as the suppliers.
- Supports and works w/HR to maintain positive employee relationship.
- Investigates and improve productivity.
- Develops work instructions, procedures, & training programs.
- Works with supervisors/managers to resolve employee issues and coach employees on their issues.
- Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the company in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.
- Ensures that the company’s established procedures are followed.
- Contributes to the organization through others and their specific technical expertise.
- Supports the company business, safety, operational, financial, and environmental objectives.
- ISO 14001 compliance, management and updates by deadlines as required by GMI corporate.
- Contributes to the definition, implementation, and monitoring of safety guidelines.
- Develop and monitor incident reports and lead root cause and countermeasure activities.
- Communicates company policies to Asst. Mgr./Group Leaders/Team Leaders,
- Provides direction in the development of environmental objectives, targets and programs,
- Monitors overall EMS performance and assures regulatory compliance,
- Maintain all required standards as regulated by the SAWS and manage the Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
- Assures continuous improvement through Kaizen and Value Improvement (VI) program.
- Uses PC – word processing, spreadsheets, databases, communications, Internet,
- Preparation of waste management cost reports.
- Responsible for enforcement of disciplinary action.
- Establishes or adjusts work assignments to coordinate flow of material,
- Recommends measures to improve methods and equipment performance,
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency,
- Instructs and guides other employees in preparing monthly report,
- Reviews monthly customer report, which documents all business activities of all programs,
- The Manager must be qualified to perform the job responsibilities of the Assistant Manager and/or Group Leaders reporting to the position,
- Other duties may be assigned. Some travel required. Monthly second shift reviews may be necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly manages Operations and Environmental Coordinators and/or Group Leaders within Resource and Waste Management department. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees for both shifts.
