Summary:
Responsibilities Include:
The Technology Leader – HPA, directs and manages a multi-faceted research and development organization and is accountable for:
Culture of Innovation:

Installing and continuously improving laboratory safe working practices.

Be the role model and champion of the Corporate Culture (Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Quality) at the site Technology team.
-
Work closely with other members of the Corporate/Business Unit Technology team across the globe by role-modeling cohesion and collaboration.
-
Responsible for fostering a cohesive and well-functioning team as the leader of a team and a member of the leadership team of the Site, Segment, and Corporate.
People Development/Management:
-
Strengthen the talent pipeline of chemists and technologists through project enrollment, coaching, training, and development programs based on the Strategic Talent Review Process and Performance Development Cycles.

Foster teams’ Technical Career Path growth through Individual Development planning and execution. Regularly providing feedback and advice.
Technology Leadership:
-
Develops and implements multi-generation product pipeline strategies to maximize the value of Momentive’s High performance antifoam portfolio.

Leads cross-functional stakeholders to assess and prioritize projects based on Desirability, Feasibility, and Viability.
-
Collaborates with senior leadership to align R&D investment/priority with corporate goals and financial targets.
-
Works closely with regional and global segment Technology, Marketing, and commercial teams to establish clear Business alignment of goals and critical milestones for the team. Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with all stakeholders.

Drives the stage gate New Product Introduction process. Directs his/her team to pursue timely delivery of critical milestones. Ensures MPM’s new product development processes and systems are fully utilized by his/her team, and fully utilizes these for regular project review occasions such as NPI review.

Facilitates decision-making processes (including related meetings) regarding project continuation, acceleration, reprioritization, or termination.

Provides technical support to customers, ADE’s, commercial teams and manufacturing as needed related to new product introductions and quality issues.

Interfaces with the Global IP team to create and manage a highly competitive patent portfolio for the product line and IP Barriers to competitors with an understanding of the competitive patent landscape.

Provides technical consultation to global Product Stewardship organization to enable compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to the antifoam portfolio (e.g., FDA, EU BFR, GMP, Kosher, Halal, etc.)

Develops and implement robust quality assurance programs for new and existing products.
-
Stays abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact the R&D portfolio.
-
Interfaces with external academic and industrial collaborators to identify new opportunities and to develop synergistic collaborations upon alignment with the Segment Technology Leadership team.

Completes other duties as assigned
Travel:

Up to 15 % global travel to Momentive locations and customers
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
-
10+ years of Research & Development experience in product development and 3+ years of experience in leading a technical team.
-
Advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
-
Ability to communicate effectively orally and written in English.
-
Strong technical competence and ability to evaluate/down-select technical approaches including setting the direction for new product developments.
-
Proven experience with strategic evaluation/planning/road mapping.
-
Proven expertise in team development
-
Demonstrated track record of project management and execution among cross-functional teams.
-
Portfolio management experience (able to develop and manage a broad portfolio of programs from the standpoint of technology)
-
Experiences of overseeing laboratory operations and the implementation of safe laboratory practices & regulations.
-
Required Technical/Business/Leadership Skills and Knowledge
-
Strong leadership and Project and Program Management skills, capable of driving teams to establish roadmaps, budgeting, planning, and technology components for advanced platforms.
-
A deep expertise in colloidal and surface chemistry, emulsions, dispersions, and surfactants.
-
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
-
Critical thinker with excellent analytical skill
-
Demonstrated excellent prioritization and organization skills.
-
Able to travel globally.
The following are preferred for this role:
-
Expertise and experience in antifoam technology are strongly preferred.
-
Knowledge of Silicone chemistry and technology
-
Working knowledge of formulations/applications that require the use of antifoam agents.
-
Experience in working with the open-innovation team to induct new technologies.

Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Reaching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, sight, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, and the ability to pass a fit test and wear a respirator is required for most positions.

What We Offer:
Base Pay Range: $159,500.00 - $234,300.00
The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.
