ADMINISTER STRATEGIC AND TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT FOR A

Duties

• Administer strategic and technical oversight for all Branch activities, including all aspects of project management for ground systems implementation for the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Program.
• Manage, analyze, and integrate broad project management processes for launch processing facilities and ground support equipment across all elements of the EGS Program and resources management, and provide oversight for project execution contracts.
• Represent the EGS Program in meetings and committees with personnel from all levels of the Center, Program, Agency, and external partners.
• Assure compliance with all NASA safety requirements and lifecycle reviews. Initiate investigations of anomalies and/or mishaps to determine cause(s) and corrective action(s). Implement lessons learned and necessary actions to correct deficiencies.
• Determine consistent performance expectations for the different phases of engineering development projects, including design, fabrication, installation, construction, verification and validation execution, and turnover to operations.
• Provide leadership and direction that enables timely and effective execution of major project management responsibilities (e.g., engineering documentation, project schedule, cost estimates, contract documentation, etc.).
• Define technical work requirements and milestones; evaluate the organization and employee accomplishments by accepting or rejecting work products; and present and defend organization and employees work to senior management and other offices.
• Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
