Duties

  • Leads and/or conducts professional scientific or technology development work directed towards discovering, disseminating, and applying new or expanded knowledge in solar physics.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates studies utilizing data from the NASA Heliophysics instrument fleets as well as MSFC developed instruments, including sub-orbital payloads.
  • Publishes results in peer-reviewed journals and attends professional meetings to present new results and to participate in discussions of related topics.
  • Supports or leads efforts for MSFC Heliophysics technology development through the conception, construction, and execution of responses to requests for proposals (RFP) to NASA and/or other federal agency opportunities.
  • Serves as scientific adviser to Postdocs, delivers presentations to project officials, managers, engineers and to NASA-Center personnel, and participates in outreach activities for the public.
