DEVELOP FAST AND ACCURATE RADIATIVE TRANSFER MODEL

Duties

• Develop fast and accurate radiative transfer models for hyperspectral satellite remote sensors relevant to NASA missions
• Lead development of a Principal Component-based Radiative Transfer Model (PCRTM) that can simulate top of atmosphere radiance or reflectance spectra for a wide range of spectral regions (Far-IR, IR, near-IR, visible, and ultra-violet)
• Develop numerical methods that can lead to improvement in the PCRTM parameterizations
• Develop methods for performing satellite and inter-satellite calibrations for current and future satellite remote sensing level-1 data
• Analyze data to understand, deduce and investigate atmospheric radiative transfer modeling techniques
• Publish results in technical journals and present work at conferences, symposia, and review meetings
