Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s North Carolina Battery Plant Quality Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quality Engineer Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure all processes are managed/operating within the set process control requirements, completing a detailed analysis of any cells/modules that fall out of the control limits.
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the person in this role will support the quality control department's objective to support the manufacturing team in producing the highest quality product to exceed our customer’s expectations.
What you’ll be doing
Support projects to meet company Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost KPIs.
Audits of our in-house processes to design/process control specifications.
Support or lead improvement projects of in-house processes.
Partner with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to strengthen quality systems.
Complete detailed root cause analysis and lead the implementation of countermeasures for any product that falls outside the normal product distribution.
Ensure quality management system requirements are being met.
Collaborate closely with other groups to promote strong kaizen culture to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
What you bring
High school diploma/GED or higher.
Previous technical experience.
Strong communication & data visualization skills.
Ability to understand and measure parts using part drawings, including interpreting GD&T symbols.
Ability to use precision measurement tools and equipment using metric systems.
Understanding of how to use the basic quality tools of problem-solving.
Ability to use Excel or other software for data analysis and basic statistics.
Understanding of measurement system qualification, capability studies, and/or basic statistics.
Technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP, DMAIC, Etc.).
Added bonus if you have
Quality lab experience.
Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing experience.
Supplied materials quality control experience.
Cross-functional work experience (Quality, manufacturing, engineering, maintenance).
Cross-functional collaboration (UTC, SOAR, etc.).
3 Pillar management/execution experience.
