The Hyattp Place Portland Old Port is seeking a Hotel Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for inspecting the cleanliness and physical condition of the hotel's guest rooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and public areas. The Hotel Housekeeping Inspector prepares reports with room status to include all guests' requests, out-of-order rooms, showrooms, etc. The Hotel Housekeeking Inspector inspects all rooms for cleanliness, and appropriate amenities, corrects working conditions of all room equipment, according to Company and Brand standards, and reports damages or problems to Management. The Hotel Housekeeping Inspector Updates Front Desk and Maintenance on any issues related to their particular areas.

Some Key Areas of Responsibility for the Hotel Housekeeping Inspector include:
- Oversees staff of room attendants, house persons, and inspectors by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work, and giving guidance so that deficiencies are corrected, and standards are met
- Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline when appropriate
- Arrange staff work schedules and determine days off, ensuring staffing levels are based on occupancy and/or any current or anticipated projects. Submits payroll records, correcting errors to ensure pay is on time and includes any purchased rooms, extra cleanup, cots, etc.
- Maintains and reviews computerized records for budgeting and forecasting of department expenses as well as inspection scores for housekeepers
- Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements for the Hotel Housekeeping Inspector include:
- Must have the ability to communicate in English
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
- Can communicate well with guests
- Must be willing to "pitch in" and help co-workers with job duties and be a team player
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout the building, bend, stoop, and reach to assist other staff members, i.e., room attendants, house persons, and inspectors, to complete
- Applicants must be able to work weekends & holidays.
