Vice President of Sales , Americas
What You'll Do
- Lead & Develop Talent: Recruit, coach, and mentor a diverse team of sellers, ensuring excellence across all experience levels.
- Achieve Revenue Goals: Meet and exceed quarterly quotas by implementing effective sales strategies and fostering satisfied, referenceable customer relationships.
- Pipeline Management & Forecasting: Utilize rigorous forecasting and pipeline management processes to ensure accurate monthly and quarterly performance assessments.
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth plan for your assigned sector in the Americas, leveraging collaboration opportunities with partners and key accounts.
- Collaborative Selling: Collaborate closely with Cognite’s internal teams and the partner ecosystem to create a unified approach to navigating sales processes and exploring new opportunities.
- Value Selling: Guide your team in employing value-based selling techniques that highlight the ROI of Cognite's offerings.
- Negotiation Excellence: Actively participate in closing deals and negotiating contracts with large enterprises to ensure favorable terms that align with customer needs.
- Customer Proximity: Maintain a strong presence near sales teams and customers to facilitate relationship building and respond quickly to client needs.
- Travel: Expect approximately 40% travel to engage with customers and partners across the Americas.
Who You Are
- Proven Sales Leadership: A minimum of 3 years leading high-growth enterprise software/SaaS sales with a track record of achieving quarterly quotas and exceeding business objectives.
- Domain Expertise:
- Energy and/or Manufacturing: Over 5 years of experience in the energy and/or process manufacturing sector, with a solid understanding of value chains and key economic drivers.
- Enterprise Software and SaaS Sales: Proven experience in enterprise software sales and building a high-performing sales team.
- Data Operations/Analytics/Data Science/Machine Learning: Relevant experience in leading enterprise software sales in these domains.
- Strong Networker: Established relationships within target energy and/or process manufacturing accounts with a proactive approach to nurturing and expanding these connections.
- Process-Oriented: A deep commitment to adhering to defined sales processes to drive consistency and success within the team.
- Coaching Ability: Proven capability to develop and mentor team members with varying levels of experience, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
- Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional collaborative skills to effectively work across Cognite and partner ecosystems to achieve common goals.
- Negotiation Skills: Expertise in negotiating contracts that ensure mutual benefits and foster long-term client relationships.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
