Job Purpose
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Systems Administrator will contribute to the architecting, designing, implementing, and supporting of the IT infrastructure at Longroad Energy. In this role, you will help manage and enhance the IT and Security systems. You will have the opportunity to identify and evaluate inefficiencies, resulting in implementing new solutions in collaboration with the IT Manager and other key stakeholders. You will support our project sites located throughout the United States helping to maintain our physical data centers. You will support a broad spectrum of tools and systems, provide timely and exceptional end user support, and maintain a knowledge base of documentation.

Responsibilities
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various platforms and applications.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot server (both physical and virtual) equipment and networks.
- Manage server services, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO, and File Servers.
- Provide tier 2 support for end user support requests and manage workstations, servers, and virtual machines.
- Deploy various virtualization technologies, such as Microsoft’s Hyper-V and VMWare ESX
- Provide day to day administration of MFA, SSO, and Identity Management.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate software and server upgrades and patches.
- Enforce IT security policies and handle limited administration duties.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Partner with the IT Manager and other members of the department to develop and maintain documentation of the evolving environment for IT and security focused audits.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation of IT functions.
- Implement and maintain security measures for safeguarding IT assets and data.
- Evaluate and recommend IT solutions to improve system efficiency and user experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3 years supporting IT environments using cloud-based solutions.
- Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Office 365)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective technical support to end-users.
- Experience with scripting languages (Powershell, Python, Bash, etc).
- Experience working with internal customers in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience being on an on-call rotation for after-hours breakfix support.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to data security and confidentiality.
- Travel as needed to offices and project sites; up to 15%.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
- Experience with SSO/SCIM and access control solutions such as AzureAD and Duo.
- Familiarity of cloud backup and disaster recovery tools such as Druva, Veeam, and Acronis.
- Familiarity with remote management and patching solutions (NinjaOne) are a plus.
