PERFORMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR SPACE AND AERONAUT

Duties

• Performs project management for space and aeronautical systems, vehicles, and/or payloads such as: design and operational requirements definition; hardware/software development; managing testing, safety, integration, certification or operations.
• Performs multiple functions such as planning, research, design, development, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management.
• Serves as an expert on projects/programs to develop, test, evaluate, research, operate, maintain, remodel, and/or decommission aircraft and/or spacecraft.
• Investigates phenomena encountered in aerospace flight, monitoring and analyzing unknown or unfamiliar aerospace vehicles, piloting aerospace vehicles, and/or developing aviation safety standards and regulations.
• Monitors contracted work either externally or on-site in the facility of the contractor.
• Serves as an expert working alongside contract aerospace engineers to incorporate new technologies, improve reliability, extend the life of an aerospace vehicle, and/or reduce total ownership costs.
• Conducts specialized studies on flight vehicles, which may include overall and individual major systems components, and additional airborne equipment encompassed in the structure, to ensure their safety, suitability, and effectiveness in operation.
