SERVES AS SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT AND TECHNICAL LEAD

Duties

• Serves as subject matter expert and technical lead for metallic materials, providing technical expertise on the selection and application of materials used in aircraft and spacecraft.
• Reviews, consults on, and conducts studies involving complex analysis of metallic materials issues including, but not limited to, metallurgy, manufacturing, structural applications, and anomalies or failures.
• Acts as a technical resource for information on metallic materials, processes, and manufacturing, for other organizations on Center and around the agency.
• Develops new test and evaluation criteria, policies, concepts, principles, and techniques that are regarded as major advances in the field of evaluation, selection, and analysis of aerospace materials.
• Provides input to flight projects, research, and proposal teams on metallic materials analysis techniques, design, costs, schedule, and program specific requirements.
• Leads or directs complex analyses on applications of metallic materials, that require multi-disciplinary techniques.
