Duties

• Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
• Serves as a security specialist performing duties associated with the Center's Physical Security Program assisting the Physical Security, Facility Security, Anti-Terrorism, and Critical Infrastructure Assurance programs as required.
• Prepares, revises, coordinates, implements, and advises on security strategic program development, planning, and policies across the Center.
• Advises and provides counsel to Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) employees regarding security policies, procedures, and directives of the agency.
• Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff as necessary to eliminate problems or barriers to mission accomplishment.
• Serves as Task Monitor for multiple contracts and establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with contract support staff.
• Provides Center physical security policy development and maintenance for physical protection of facilities, personnel, classified information and/or other sensitive materials/resources or processes.
• Serves as an armed NASA Special Agent with Federal Arrest Authority.
