Duties

• Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
• Provide insight or oversight to various NASA projects and Programs on issues relating to Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts.
• Evaluate preliminary design reviews (PDRs), system requirement reviews (SRRs), critical design reviews (CDRs), and troubleshooting/root cause investigations across a variety of programs.
• Evaluate proposed EEE parts lists with respect to the projects specific hardware criticality and environments.
• Report on the manufacturers, materials, construction, usage (environment and electrical de-rating), and overall reliability of the selected parts to the EEE Parts Control Board (PCB).
• Recommend replacement EEE parts.
• Conduct EEE parts failure investigations.
• Review and assess Military and industry EEE parts specifications, standards and studies for application to NASA programs.
• Develop EEE Part Management Plans, EEE part qualification plans, project specific screening requirements, and Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR).
• Work in a team environment to support the mission of the Electronic Design and Manufacturing Branch/EV5 and the Avionics Systems Division.
