A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:
As an Appraisal Manager, you will oversee the real estate appraisal and evaluation process for commercial banking and ensure it is compliant with regulatory requirements and Bank policy. In addition, you will support the Director of Credit Underwriting by overseeing the appraisal review operations and staff.
Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:
- Overseeing the real estate appraisal and evaluation process for commercial banking and tracking their status per FDIC guidelines and Bank policy.
- Monitoring appraisal policy and recommending updates as needed.
- Maintaining approved Appraiser list and monitoring other regulatory requirements.
- Interacting with appraisers to assure timelines and quality of appraisals performed for the Bank as well as assuring appraisals on all types of property including commercial, residential, and agricultural meet federal regulatory agency guidelines.
- Managing the Bank’s commercial appraisal and evaluation platform (Collateral 360) to include working with the vendor and recommending updates as needed.
- Providing appraisal related services for the Bank to include receiving, responding, and initiating communication with Bank personnel about real estate evaluations.
- Performing all functions in and outside the Bank’s appraisal management platform, such as preparing RFP’s, soliciting bids, communicating with lending teams, engaging and communicating with Appraisers, reviews appraisals, and performs record keeping functions.
- Preparing periodic regulatory reports for Audit.
- Preparing and presenting real estate and appraisal related reports to Management.
- Remaining current on real estate appraisal regulations and related education.
- Developing and maintaining business relationships with other appraisal professionals.
- Managing and leading the other team members on the Appraisal Review team.
- Engaging in continuous education and staff development.
What You Bring to the Team:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent experience.
- You possess a valid Washington State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License.
- You have 3 years of experience appraising and/or reviewing appraisals of Commercial Real Estate after receiving Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License.
- You have a designation from a professional appraisal organization.
- You may have 2 years of management experience.
- You possess knowledge of and compliance with all Federal and State regulations and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
- You complete continuing education as required by the Washington State Dept. of Licensing as required.
- Your proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and bank related software.
- You have demonstrated effective leadership and team building skills.
- You have demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of quality control standards and the ability to apply those standards in all areas.
- You are able to appropriately manage sensitive information regarding Bank customers, Bank employees, and regulatory matters.
- You have good time management and organizational skills.
- You are self-directed and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
- You are skilled at business communication, both verbal and written.
- You have a strong professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality.
- You can travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings and/or training as required.
- You have the ability to model the Peoples Bank Mission, Vision, and Values.
