How You'll Help Us Win:
- Provide legal advice and support across various departments including Intellectual Property, Marketing/Advertising, Digital Products, Customer Service, Sales, Product Liability, and Product Compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents
- Assist with corporate governance and board related matters including preparing board materials, meeting minutes, resolutions, governance documents, and corporate policies
- Assist, as needed, with SEC reporting and compliance matters
- Oversee Traeger’s intellectual property (IP) and brand protection initiatives, including patent and trademark filing strategies, brand enforcement, IP disputes, and other related matters
- Serve as an in-house thought leader on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure, governance, and industry best practices, and support the business across its ESG-related projects
- Offer guidance on Human Resources issues, operations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, and Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies,
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on data privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), including data handling, consent management, data retention, and data subject rights
- Consult and coordinate with the compliance team and third-party vendors to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations including Conflict Minerals, ROHS, REACH, Proposition 65, WEEE, and PFAS
- Assist with the management and oversight of litigation, including coordinating with external counsel, developing legal strategies, and ensuring that litigation processes align with corporate objectives
- Collaborate with and support the legal team in implementing policies and procedures that ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Stay abreast of relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry guidance that impact the company directly or indirectly
What You Need To Win:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and an active member in good standing of a state bar
- Minimum of 2-5 years of legal experience, preferably with some tenure in-house in a related industry
- Comprehensive understanding of a wide array of legal disciplines as listed in the responsibilities or demonstrated ability to identify legal issues and develop legal strategies address
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and lead complex projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of advising and influencing senior management and other key stakeholders
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise good judgment in a variety of situations
