How you’ll make an impact:
SiriusXM is looking for a VP of Technology Strategy who will report into the Senior Vice President of Media Content Engineering and support the execution of all engineering launches for SXM/Pandora’s digital audiences and stakeholders: Listeners, Content Creators and Advertisers. In addition, this role is critical in enabling communication, collaboration, and strategy execution across the Engineering, Product, and Operations Organizations. In this role, you will be a key member of the Product + Technology Leadership team and collaborate closely with product, engineering, science and business leaders to create and deliver innovative products to market with speed and high quality of service. This person will coordinate cross-functionally on a systematic basis with Product, Engineering, Operations and the Executive Leadership Team to drive alignment and maintain engineering delivery of technology product decisions.
In this role you will lead three primary functions: Leading and optimizing our Technology Program Management function; driving Organizational Planning & Budgeting process and developing/ leading the strategic roadmap and prioritization for Media Content Engineering.. You should be capable of holding leaders accountable for business goals, artfully articulating our mission and vision, and be a sharp critical thinker who can solve business issues. You will be able to shift from a holistic strategy for each of these areas to operating at a sufficient level of detail to deliver high-quality results through motivating a high-performing team.
What you’ll do:

Lead Technology Program Management function and team of technical program managers
-
Manage "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, functions, divisions, and stakeholders

Ensure cross-function collaboration and alignment with upstream and downstream Product, Engineering and Operations teams
-
Lead cross-functional meetings with key product, engineering, science and business stakeholders for each program to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues. Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met and support the strategic vision of each program.

Organize, facilitate and evolve weekly Engineering leadership meetings to encourage productive dialogue and discussion.

Create and maintain master project schedule in partnership with team leads

Ensure all project tasks have clear owners (dev and non-dev) and that timelines from inception to roll-out are understood and have clear drivers

Implement and manage formal Intake, Triage and Prioritization of key Media Content Engineering deliverables

Project manage cross-functional initiatives and/or support major platform areas
-
Forecast risks before they arise - “canary in the coalmine”

Accountable for driving annual and quarterly resource planning process, which captures critical resource, planning and financial metrics that inform business and people decisions and enables seamless record of Engineering launches and risk mitigation

Refine a seamless resource planning process, including current and new systems, tools and organizational support, that provides transparency to all stakeholders for short- and long-term allocation. This function identifies resource gaps and potential risks, and ensures each project is optimally staffed for success.

Document and communicate a resource planning framework that includes the following areas of focus: Roadmap planning process (dates and steps from start to publish), Status reporting and stakeholder communications, Standard live operations (support, release process, cadence and documentation)

Own and manage both Capex and Opex budgets in partnership with Finance to drive cost savings and ensure key roadmap items are properly funded/executed

Manage the Media Engineering Roadmap and ensure it is is evangelized and well- understood by stakeholders and partners

Lead and participate in technology innovation discussions that focus on growth, efficiencies and ‘future proofing’ Media Content Engineering endeavors

Be the source of truth for the technology strategy for Media Content Engineering and work closely with cross-functional teams to inform that strategy

Create and Manage Monthly ‘All-hands’ meetings for Media Content Engineering team

Manage monthly MCE Program Updates across the organization
What you’ll need:
-
15+ years of management consulting, large scale program management, engineering and/ or product management leadership experience
-
15+ years of management experience
-
MBA preferred
-
Ability to build trust with executives and internal / external stakeholders of all levels.

Strong written communication skills and ability to distill and convey information in a compelling manner.

Detail-oriented organizational and process management skills to manage a wide range of incoming requests and responsibilities.

Experienced with setting up processes to improve engagements between technology, product and cross-functional groups (i.e. has led process development within a central product and engineering organization)

Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies.

Experience with Program Portfolio Management.

5+ years' experience (strategy consulting or brand strategy preferred)
-
Proven track record of working closely with C-suite/VP-level management while also influencing across multiple levels and functions of an organization

Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects successfully
-
Ability to dive into any area of the business or product, understand business needs, and facilitate executive decisions

Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information

High degree of financial acumen - proven track record of planning and executing on the financial aspect of deliverables
