Specific duties include:
- upport the content development and maintenance of the UMTAPS website.
- Conduct and utilize market research as necessary to implement appropriate marketing communications and outreach strategies.
- Manage social media platforms for ASUM Transportation and UM Parking.
- Design and distribute printed informational and outreach materials, including parking and route maps, utilizing UM brand guidelines.
- Draft and distribute UMTAPS press releases, in coordination with Campus Communications.
- Serve as the primary media contact for UM Parking and ASUM Transportation.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and department emails.
- Plan and implement UMTAPS engagement events.
- Develop and maintain UMTAPS learning modules for new users.
- In collaboration with the Parking Director, develop and implement communications training for Parking staff.
- Participate in regular operations and planning meetings.
- Support ASUMT managers with creating and maintaining Transit App alerts.
- Support collaboration with community partners such as Missoula Urban Transportation District and Missoula in Motion.
Required Skills
- Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Canva, and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkdIn.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and experience.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience coordinating and engaging with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to honoring and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Minimum Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of experience in community engagement and communications strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field.
- Experience with web content management tools and/or online training platforms.
- Experience designing an engagement program with clearly-identified strategies and outcomes, especially behavior change campaigns in public transit, parking, or community planning topics.
- Experience in the use ArcGIS, Adobe Suite, and Google Maps, survey software such Qualtrics.

Position Title: Media Coordinator (Media Information Specialist)
Position Number: 420410
Department: UM Transportation & Parking Services
Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
Salary: $20.276/hr Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the .

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
