JOB FUNCTION
The Cloud DevOps Engineer will be responsible for overseeing our Cloud and DevOps computing efforts. The ideal candidate will be required to work independently and take responsibility in the planning and coordinating of efforts with the firm’s Technology Infrastructure and Development teams. The candidate will report into the Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying and tanslating business and technical requirements into Cloud Infrastructure blueprints to achieve business objectives.
- Proposing cloud solutions based on business and technology considerations, as well as suitable alternatives to satisfy requirements.
- Administering our Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-code while ensuring that our solutions are optimized for cost and functionality.
- Establishing governance that will allow Cloud services to be consumed in agile fashion.
- Developing CI/CD processes for new projects.
- Creating and maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.
- Keeping abreast of emerging cloud technologies and help evaluate vendor offerings to determine best fit for business needs.
- Working with various Development teams to productionize business applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of Cloud Infrastructure/DevOps experience deploying and operating on a public cloud framework (AWS preferred). Experience must include building reusable modules and deployment solutions.
- Required in-depth Terraform coding, troubleshooting, and refactoring.
- Advanced working knowledge of AWS tools such as S3, EC2, VPC, Lambda, Route 53, Fargate, IAM Policy Management.
- Experience supporting Linux server environments required.
- CI/CD Tools: GitHub/GitLab preferred.
- CM Tools: Ansible and Terraform preferred.
- Container Tools: ECS/Fargate, HashiCorp Nomad, and Docker preferred.
- Microsoft Azure/GCP experience a plus.
- Coding: Bash, Python or Golang (Go) preferred.
- Availability to provide 24/7 support as needed.
The base salary range for this position in New York City is $160,000 to $200,000. In addition to base salary, Viking employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, 100% coverage of medical and dental premiums, and paid lunches. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be individually determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, and other qualifications.
