Duties

  • Lead a high-performing team to collaborate with counterparts in the NASA Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
  • Provide a positive customer experience for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure timely and value-added support for, and resolution of, key Center financial, resource, and system management matters in accordance with guidance.
  • Mentor team on their respective roles and responsibilities to ensure clear understanding of the policies, rules, and guidance related to the Center's financial management operations.
  • Deliver high-quality technical products and services with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Make decisions that produce high-quality results by applying technical knowledge, analyzing problems, calculating risks, and providing a level of accountability for organizational mission.
  • Determine the impact of new legislative, regulatory, other external directives and guidance, and internal decisions and changes on Agency policies/procedures related to accounting operations.
  • Provide expert advice to Agency senior leadership, program managers, and other accountants/analysts on resolving difficult accounting issues.
  • Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
