Broadcasting Operations SpecialistPay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $69,000 to $71,500 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.The Broadcasting Operations Specialist supports the operations of the Anaheim Ducks television and audio broadcasts. The position will be involved in building and delivering key broadcast assets to talent, crews and broadcast platforms. This role will report to the Director of Broadcasting and will be involved in all components of the broadcast department, coordinating the broadcast operations required to execute the day-to-day acquisition, production and delivery of live game & event broadcasts.
Responsibilities
Serve as a point of contact between the Ducks and all external TV stakeholders (OTA, DTC + national shows)
Work with the Director of Broadcasting to ensure that all tech sheets are accurately updated and distributed prior to every Ducks home and away broadcast
Assist with game-day preparation of coordinating parking and ramp access lists, providing credentials to television crews, creating signage for studios and TV booths
Ensure that all broadcast crews and operations (camera positions, truck parking, equipment) follow all NHL and venue rules and regulations
Partner with local radio engineers to ensure proper audio production and distribution when the team is on the road
Responsible for delivering features, marketing copy and commercial inventory for TV and radio to broadcast crews and all associated talent on a gamely basis
Edit marketing copy for TV and radio to guarantee necessary length and conversational verbiage
Assist the Director of Broadcasting with tracking the broadcast operations budget (based on spending throughout the season)
Compile and log all broadcast air check requests and send to internal departments
Manage a digital archive, including footage tagging and highlights
Assist in the editing process for all audio and TV content pieces
Streamline and develop broadcast operations processes to ensure a smooth process from start to end
Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Technology or other related studies
In lieu of a college degree, significant field experience may be considered
2+ years of experience in Broadcast Operations, Production, or related fields
Experience in planning and implementing multiple projects
Experience with supporting live game remote operations, preferably with a regional sports network
Knowledge of hockey and NHL landscape desired
Knowledge of all facets of broadcast operations, including crewing, scheduling, signal flow, and production requirements
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Audition, Premier)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong strategic and analytical skills
Must be self-motivated, organized, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Able to handle multiple projects at one time, detail-oriented, and work well under pressure
Able to have a flexible schedule, attending all home games, work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
