Duties

• Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
• Serves as a technical lead participating on teams responsible for mission planning, training, software development/integration/testing, and real-time human space flight activity execution.
• Develops engineering analysis for operational concepts, plans, procedures, and requirements for spacecraft hardware and software systems as required for the real-time flight control of human space flight.
• Performs multiple functions which may include: planning, design, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management, quality management for projects, and identification/resolution of potential in-flight malfunctions and contingencies.
• Represents the directorate and branch to Programmatic Stakeholders providing technical Systems Matter Expert level expertise for areas of responsibility.
• Builds consensus and fosters communication between team members, management, flight control disciplines, and directorates/programs.
• Coordinates between flight crew, flight control, engineering, Commercial/International partners, and other stakeholders.
• Informs management on strategic direction for the International Space Station, Commercial Low Earth Orbit Economy (LEO), and Artemis Missions.
• Coaches and mentors team members, provides technical training, and assists with certification of personnel through briefings, classroom instruction, mission simulators, and other specialized facilities and trainers.
