PLANS AND DEVELOPS PROGRAM PROCEDURES AND INTERNAL

Duties

• Plans and develops program procedures and internal controls, not limited to, quality assurance (QA) in an aircraft environment, occupational safety, and contract management.
• Supports fixed wing aircraft operations including avionics, electronics, airframes, power plants, mechanical modifications, and general aircraft airworthiness and methodology applicable to NASA and FAA regulations and requirements.
• Conducts aircraft safety inspections to identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions which could cause damage to aircraft and/or personnel. Serves as adviser on matters of aviation ground safety.
• Reviews procurement documents, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure adequate quality requirements are provided in acquisitions.
• Assists with the quality surveillance of programs (aircraft records, metrology and calibration, foreign object damage, tool control, ground support equipment, fuel surveillance, HAZMAT, oil analysis, weight/balance, and unapproved parts).
• Supports the aircraft weight and balance program. Performs aircraft configuration control, maintenance manual and flight manual change tracking.
• Investigates and analyzes adverse quality trends or conditions and initiates corrective action. Develops monitoring and measurement plans to troubleshoot contributing factors.
