Lighting DirectorPay Details:
The starting hourly rate range for this position is $41.53 to $51.92 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will take internal value, peer equity, job-related factors, and other organizational considerations into account.We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lighting Director and Programmer to join our team and play a key role in creating an electrifying and unforgettable experience for our fans, athletes, and performers. You will be responsible for hands-on programming, implementing, and maintaining the special effects lighting systems throughout the arena for Anaheim Ducks Hockey, basketball, video shoots, special events, and more. This is a unique opportunity to use your creativity and technical expertise to contribute to the energy and excitement of live sports and entertainment.
Responsibilities
Program, operate, and collaborate with production teams, producers, and directors to provide support as assigned for OCVIBE events, including but not limited to Honda Center, and all indoor/outdoor event spaces
Coordinate lighting with on-ice projection presentations
Operate lighting consoles during live events, executing cues with precision and timing
Maintain and troubleshoot lighting equipment, ensuring its proper functionality and safety
Stay up-to-date on the latest lighting technologies and trends
Contribute to the continuous improvement of lighting systems and procedures
Manage lighting team and schedules
Lead and mentor lighting technicians
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Lighting Director in a live entertainment setting, preferably in a sports arena or similar venue
Strong understanding of lighting, programming, design principles and techniques
Proficient in operating professional lighting consoles (e.g.: MA Lighting GrandMA2, Hog Series)
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Understanding video playback and high-end projection systems a plus
Detail-oriented and quality-focused
A passion for live events and sports entertainment
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting all deadlines
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Able to work in fluctuating temperatures
Able to work in non-traditional office environments
Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment

Education - Bachelor's Degree
