The Role
The Director, FP&A will be a key member of the corporate finance team and will own, manage and oversee WH&R’s capital planning and project funding processes. This individual will work cross functionally to gain alignment across senior leadership on the budgeted company initiatives that compose WH&R’s annual capital spend. This role will be critical in ensuring financial governance, reporting and visibility of capital spend and return metrics to senior leadership. This role will report into the Sr Director, FP&A.
What you'll do
- Lead the capital budget process, including presentations, ROI analysis, project prioritization and managing budget timelines and expectations.
- Create and present formal presentations for WH&R’s executive committee, highlighting the planned execution strategy for the company’s capital spend and updates against initial plan.
- Manage the capital and depreciation forecasts.
- Prepare content for monthly/bi-weekly project funding review meetings.
- Develop financial business cases for proposed company initiatives to size financial return and assist in prioritization.
- Create and readout financial lookbacks against initial business case assumptions.
- Track project spend against budgeted expectations.
You'll be successful if you have
- Must be able to link P&L results / forecasts with long term impact (business cases).
- Ability to adapt to changing requests and be able to prioritize work without continuous supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure and facing tight deadlines while not sacrificing accuracy of work.
- Must be able to clearly articulate capital spend targets and tracking against said targets to senior management.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Process oriented to drive efficiencies.
- Detail oriented to drive accuracy.
- Ability to offer beliefs and opinions while also being open to other suggestion.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- At least 10-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills.
