Overview
As part of the ConUser Acceptance Test (UAT) Delivery team we are looking for a site reliability engineer / support technician that can support the operations & management of the controlled UAT client testing ecosystem. In this role, you will have three main responsibilities, supporting the pre-production client testing ecosystem which includes analysis, investigation and resolution of environment related incidents and problems, supporting the software development life cycle (SDLC) process and related tasks, and performing some level of site reliability engineering, improving what we do on a day-to-day basis, e.g. automating manual repetitive operational, housekeeping and maintenance tasks. What You’ll Do
Investigation and resolution of complex and major/critical Incidents, as well as perform Problem Management duties, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, known error establishment, and resolution determination
Conduct advanced troubleshooting of environment/database/application issues and batch job failures, escalating to and liaising with the Development team
Review and identify gaps with support documentation and update accordingly, in addition to reviewing Health Checks & Monitoring, ensuring they are fit for purpose, automate to the extent possible
Identify issues that are due to application or data issues, highlight and escalate accordingly, while implementing Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment, following Infrastructure as Code principles, sharing your knowledge with other team members to cross pollinate skills, and participating in all agile ceremonies
Support and work alongside a cross-functional engineering team on the latest technologies, while automating and optimizing all manual repetitive tasks
Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of the team, have on call responsibilities in rotation, and provide continuous service improvement
Skills You’ll Need
Moderate large IT organization experience working in a support environment (production), supporting mission critical complex transactional systems utilizing a large number of technologies with previous experience providing application/environment support and extensive experience with assessing problems without having to follow documented instructions / rely on subject matter experts break them down into constituent parts and direct the required remediation actions
Experience with Linux OS and scripting, Java development, Monitoring via Geneos, Oracle database, Structured Query Language (SQL) Program Language/SQL, and ITIL framework (Ansible/YAML scripting experience a plus)
Experience working with offshore and outsourced teams
Proven project management delivery
Experience using agile methodologies and practices

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
