What You'll Do
Guide IT leaders in accelerating their adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies, facilitating their journey towards advanced IT capabilities and digital transformation. Lead the design and construction of highly scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS, applying pivotal services such as API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, and ECS to build a robust and flexible infrastructure. Employ innovative architectural patterns like serverless computing, containerization, and microservices to enhance system scalability and resilience. Shown strength in transitioning legacy, monolithic applications into distributed, microservices-based architectures, optimizing for the modern cloud environment. Serve as a trusted consultant, promoting the integration of AWS standard processes and guiding organizations in refining their AWS processes for maximum efficiency and compliance. Influence the wider infrastructure architecture by disseminating industry insights and advocating for the adoption of cloud-native development standards and the strategic use of open-source technology.

Be a part of a highly dynamic and empowered team of collaborative Engineers and Technical leaders/Architects who are passionate about building, supporting and enhancing a flawless and end-to-end automated usability experience across Cisco Business Entities (BEs) towards fulfillment of all their respective Products, Platforms and Services related TPS license compliance needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- BS level technical degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Engineering background
- 10+ years of large scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Node.js, .NET, Python, PHP or Ruby
- 10+ years of experience as a Technology specialist in end-customer facing functional roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Demonstrated success as a software developer, application architect, product manager, CTO, or consultant working with various platforms
- Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform
- Designing and building application using Container and serverless technologies
- Experience architecting highly available systems that apply load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability
- Good exposure to Agile software development and DevOps practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC),
- Continuous Integration and automated deployment
- Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins)
- Configuration Management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible)
- Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems
- Presenting at public events such as technology conferences, hackathons, etc
- Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers
- Blogging or writing technical articles or contributing to an open source project for new and existing technologies or application architecture and design
- Knowledgeable and active participant in Industry recognized forums related to Open source technologies, SBOM workgroup communities, open source AI forums

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
