Director, European Enterprise Sales
Description
Enhance Uplight's industry presence and capitalize on existing interest in our solutions, amidst growing demand for managing distributed energy resources and seize the opportunity presented by evolving regulatory frameworks in Europe to drive value for our clients.
This role is remote (UK, Northern Europe, or the Nordics preferred) and reports to our SVP of Global Sales, who is based in the UK. Compensation for the role includes a strong base salary, incentive cash compensation, equity participation, and the personal award associated with a position of leadership in a company making meaningful contributions to decarbonization and energy grid optimization. This position is one of importance, high impact, and high visibility in the industry.
- Strengthen relationships, secure sales opportunities, and navigate complex enterprise sales processes to successful closure.
- Drive identification and pursuit of long-term value opportunities for Uplight, executing our enterprise sales model with measurable outcomes.
- Employ effective solution-based selling methodologies to instill a vision at senior levels within prospect organizations and shepherd deals from initiation to completion.
- Lead and mentor a virtual sales team, actively engaging with accounts and setting the pace by achieving targets personally.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making on opportunity pursuit and resource allocation, advocating for customer needs within our management team.
- Develop and maintain a predictable revenue stream while serving as a conduit for customer feedback within the organization.
What you will contribute:
- A keen understanding of targeted account structures, collaborating closely with Schneider Electric where necessary, while fostering strong relationships within each account. Gain deep insights into the buying processes of each account and facilitate communication among decision-makers across the customer's hierarchy.
- Mastery of the nuances of regulated and deregulated energy markets in target European countries.

- Ensure alignment and support for deals across all levels of the customer's organization, particularly at the C-suite level.
- Ownership of results; consistently achieving revenue objectives, while contributing to the integration of the European sales function within Uplight.
- Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, and engineering teams, cultivating positive internal relationships.
What you bring to Uplight:
- Proven track record as European / Regional / Area sales leader (Director, VP, SVP) in a leading enterprise software firm, specializing in use case-driven solutions.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise software new business sales, with a focus on SaaS deployment models.
- Demonstrated success in selling sophisticated software solutions across various levels of complex enterprise accounts, adept at navigating long lead time selling cycles.
- Proficiency in solutions selling; adept at generating, managing, and closing deals while leveraging effective sales processes.
- Strong business acumen, understanding of revenue generation, and ability to align solutions with buyer motivations
- Skilled in identifying and targeting high-value accounts to maximize long-term sales impact.
- Thrives in entrepreneurial environments, with a knack for implementing recognized enterprise sales methodologies.
- Background with companies renowned for sales excellence.
