Overview of Position
Bridger Photonics’ Gas Mapping LiDAR (GML), has revolutionized the way methane emissions are managed. Never before has a technology been available that could comprehensively cover entire distribution networks, allowing new levels of methane emission management. We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth with Local Distribution Companies (LDCs) / Utilities. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of the distribution industry, leak detection workflows, and the ability to develop and execute strategies to position Bridger Photonics as a go-to provider for advanced gas leak detection solutions supporting LDCs.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Market Penetration Strategy: Develop and execute a market penetration strategy tailored to the distribution market. Define market segments, identify aligned customers and outline strategies to effectively reach and engage gas utilities, positioning Bridger Photonics as a trusted partner for emissions management.
- Solution and Workflow Development: Leverage your comprehensive understanding of leak detection workflows within gas utilities. Collaborate with sales and customers to guide the use of Bridger Photonics' technologies can be implemented using a technology layering approach to help customers reduce risk and manage emissions.
- Product Development: Work closely with the Research and Development teams to create distribution-specific products and enhancements. Provide industry insights and collaborate on product roadmaps, ensuring that Bridger Photonics' offerings align with the evolving needs of the distribution market.
- Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key players in the distribution industry. Collaborate with partners to enhance product offerings, expand market reach, and drive adoption of Bridger Photonics' solutions.
- Value Statement Development: Utilize your understanding of the unique needs and challenges of gas utilities to develop and articulate the value proposition of Gas Mapping Lidar.
- Marketing and Outreach: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and outreach initiatives targeting the distribution market. Create compelling marketing materials, deliver presentations at industry events, and promote Bridger Photonics as a thought leadership in the distribution gas leak detection space.
- Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to gas leak detection in the distribution market. Act as a subject matter expert within the organization and provide insights and guidance on market dynamics and competitive landscape.
Requirements
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related area), with a strong business background (MBA preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of leak detection workflows and processes within gas utilities, including an understanding of industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to identify key stakeholders within client organizations and to interact with multiple levels and functions including R&D, ESG and Operations, from mid to executive level management.
- Strong network and existing relationships within the distribution and gas utility industry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work cohesively with a team of internal and external scientists, engineers, executives, and support staff.
- Passion for technology and innovation in the gas leak detection space within the distribution market.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10+ years of combined technical sales, product management, business development and other relevant experience.
- Proven track record in business development, preferably within the distribution sector, with a focus on gas utilities and leak detection solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful market penetration strategies, targeting specific industries or market segments.
- Experience in product development collaboration, working closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D and engineering.
- Experience selling and/or delivering data products.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time, salaried position.
- Travel may be required for this position.
- This position is based at Bridger's facility in Bozeman, MT and is not a remote work position.
- Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and skills.
