PROVIDE TECHNICAL GUIDANCE AND DIRECTION TO AIRCRA

Duties

• Provide technical guidance and direction to aircraft engineering technicians and overall technical authority for the assigned research platform.
• Perform modifications, periodic and unscheduled maintenance, and pre- post- and thru- flight activities.
• Troubleshoot multiple aircraft including Global Hawk and ground control station electronic, avionics, instrumentation, science and research instrument components, and associated test equipment.
• Work closely with engineers and or customers to plan, design, install, troubleshoot, repair, and improve complex avionics, instrumentation, and science or research instrument systems.
• Read and interpret aircraft blueprints, technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals.
• Serve as the designated system inspector for assigned research aircraft, conducting thorough inspections in all areas that impact airworthiness and operational safety.
• Support professional engineers in performing experiments, research, and development activities requiring an in-depth knowledge of technical engineering methods, applications, practices, and principles to work on concepts and experimental projects.
