What role you will play in our team

The Contracts Manager will manage a portfolio of Drilling and/or Completions goods and/or services agreements within ExxonMobil’s unconventional O&G business. The Contract Manager is responsible for executing Source to Contract procurement activities and proactively and collaboratively managing all aspects of the assigned portfolio. This position will be located in our Spring TX office. 

What you will do

• Negotiates contract pricing and terms & conditions directly with suppliers while working with internal stakeholders, seeking lowest total system costs and appropriate mitigation of supply and legal risk
• Executes PtP processes in full compliance with Sourcing & Acquisition Handbook and CIMS catalogs.
• Fully leverages Procurement processes and tools to ensure most effective procurement method is utilized
• Maintains agreement portfolio: scope updates, pricing, Exhibits, amendments
• Ensures contract compliance and utilization- monitors supplier performance, Trouble shoots issues, etc.
• Ensures transactional efficiency of agreements by leveraging systems
• Identifies business value and other opportunities within the portfolio
• Develops and maintains internal and external relationships to meet business line expectations
• Provides fit-for-risk process improvements
• Implements category strategic guidance and shares portfolio specific market intelligence to Category Networks
• Lead, coach and mentor fellow Contracts Managers, business and functional stakeholders on sourcing and commercial best practices and tactics
• Establish and directly negotiate and/or support negotiations of agreements with advantaged terms, best in class compensation, and strong supply security features. 
• Develop Category Total Cost of Ownership models to support commercial activity 
• Drive and steward business value and identify contract rationalization opportunities within the portfolio 
• Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of category

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees
• A minimum of 3 years relevant Procurement experience
• Proven ability to identify innovative solutions and savings opportunities with suppliers 
• Demonstrated experience with change management and in managing complex projects.
• Supplier Relationship Management experience 
• Excellent negotiation experience, including terms and conditions 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret market data including using benchmarking and indexes 
• Ability to assess industry trends, latest technologies, and best practices in a timely matter to identify and take full advantage of market opportunities 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including leading without direct authority. 
• Experience adhering to and enforcing project and procurement controls policies 
• Expertise in strategy development
• Demonstrated proficiency using data analysis tools and solutions for reporting and decision making.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to evaluate commercial opportunities within the context of overall business objectives

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Supply Chain
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
• Business and Contract management acumen
• Strong understanding and application of total cost of ownership, and ability to derive total cost of ownership models and should cost models 
• Demonstrated Project planning / execution skills 
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement / innovation 
• Knowledge of purchase to pay processes (Buying, Contracting, Payables) 
• Knowledge of basic to more advanced (e.g., performance based) commercial constructs with ability to effectively design and negotiate into a contract instrument
• Demonstrated experience in contract development, setup, and stewardship. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead virtual team projects or initiatives 
• Ability to lead developments and advancements of commercial proficiencies within team, category, and across Procurement.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external parties.
• Ability to think strategically, identify opportunities and develop actionable plans.
• Demonstrated understanding of key market players / dynamics of domestic and international logistics
