Description
TITLE: Sr. Project Manager, Battery Technology
Duties: Lead product development projects for state-of-the-art heavy duty EV battery technologies and understand the product requirements, technical risks and the validation strategy to accelerate the development process. Develop and communicate project plans and schedules. Identify creative ways to overcome obstacles and meet the schedule despite setbacks. Proactively ensure that risk mitigating actions are on-going within the engineering teams. Identify multi-functional design dependencies and risks. Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified, escalating with leadership team when required. Contribute to weekly cross-functional team meetings for each project. Coordinate prototype build activities (work with cross functional teams to coordinate clear to build, line readiness, technician allocation, etc.). Hybrid work acceptable within reasonable commuting distance of the Burlingame, CA office.
SALARY: $146,400-$200,244/year
LOCATION: Proterra Powered LLC, 1815 Rollins Rd., Burlingame, CA 94010
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related field of study and two (2) years of experience as (all levels) Project Engineer or related role where required experience gained.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires experience in the following:
- Two (2) years managing complex hardware projects through the full product development life cycle;
- Design cycle;
- Multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy, including hardware and software components;
- Product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures;
- Understanding and communicating tradeoffs between engineering design, manufacturability, schedule and cost;
- Communicating/presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical teams, audience ranging from cross functional support individuals to executive leadership; and
- Creating, maintaining and communicating schedules.
