Job Description
Position Summary:
NRECA’s Membership and Business Development department prides itself on service excellence. We are seeking a team member with strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the intellectual curiosity to learn and improve the processes that serve our members and member-candidates. The successful candidate will become a trusted source of information and will establish relationships across departments to ensure the highest quality response and service to our members. The position offers autonomy as well as the opportunity to work within teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the application and onboarding process for new NRECA member organizations, including a weekly report on applicant status.
- Manages and reports on the monthly collection process for outstanding member dues.
- Responds directly to member inquiries, questions, and concerns.
- Supports member engagement activities and coordinates member visits to NRECA headquarters.
- Develops cross-departmental relationships to ensure effective communication and foster teamwork across the association.
- Maintains up-to-date materials on the value of NRECA membership through collaboration with staff in other departments.
- Administers annual mailings to members for data collection and supports departmental efforts to maintain accurate member records in the NetFORUM database.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least four years of experience with association member outreach and member recruitment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, verbally and electronically, with members and NRECA staff.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize deadlines.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- An eagerness to learn about the ways NRECA supports and serves its members
- Familiarity with NetFORUM database.

Essential Physical Requirements: -
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
