Job Description:
About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment, working to set timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Plan, co-ordinate and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture major sub-components and completed machines.
· Co-ordination of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to establish/implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
· Implementing best practice standard work onto shop floor
· Build/Drawing pack creation & maintenance in conjunction with Engineering Change Orders & New Product Development.
· Liaise with cross functional departments e.g. supply chain, engineering, quality
· Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including Line Balance, 5S, Poke Yoke
· Ensure current processes and all new processes encompass safe working practices
· Production support to the Manufacturing Department
· Problem Solving
About you
· Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
· Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous
· Competent in use of Microsoft packages
· Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
· Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous
· Excellent multi-tasking & attention to detail skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Good organisational skills
· Logical & Methodical approach to problem solving
· Ability to work with others to meet deadlines
