Position Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent; higher education or insurance experience beneficial
- Attention to detail required - Accurate keyboard, data entry, and clerical skills
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Well-developed organization skills with ability to set priorities and respond accordingly
- Solid mathematical aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external customers
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment supporting others
Primary Accountabilities:
- Ensures optimum performance in this position gaining full knowledge of Claims Assistant functions.
- Recommends and implements techniques to increase department productivity, efficiency and cut costs; takes advantage of opportunities to improve procedures and strives for high-quality service.
- Develops and maintains an image of corporate excellence using teamwork with an emphasis on professional and credible customer service - positive customer relations to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Gains basic knowledge of department errors and omissions exposures and E & O procedures.
- Continually strives to improve and upgrade skills.
Essential Job Functions:
- Efficient, timely and accurate processing and data entry of assigned claim files, adjuster requests and claim payments as required.
- Provide required support to adjuster, technician and internal office teams as needed.
- Ability to multi-task and manage a heavy and active case load.
- Daily maintenance and update of assigned files, correspondence, etc.
- Development and maintenance of positive working relations, regular communication and follow up with internal and external customers and claimants as required.
- Assist department and office in maintain file room, process daily mail and dead files, answer phones.
- Access and utilize Claims System, generate loss runs and claim reports as requested.
- Assistance with the compilation of reports, proposals, statistics, handouts, or other various materials as required.
- Timely notification of service problems to Supervisor/Manager.
