What You Will Do
We are seeking a skilled Shipping Team Lead to oversee and manage the shipping operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating a team to ensure the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and facilitating the seamless flow of finished goods within and out of our facility. This role demands a proactive leader with strong organizational and communication skills to drive operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
Please note the typical hiring range is $32.00 - $35.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.

What You Will Do
We are seeking a skilled Shipping Team Lead to oversee and manage the shipping operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating a team to ensure the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and facilitating the seamless flow of finished goods within and out of our facility. This role demands a proactive leader with strong organizational and communication skills to drive operational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordination: Oversee and coordinate activities related to shipping, incoming receiving workbench, put-away to finished goods, RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) receiving and shipping, material moves, picklists from finished goods, job receipts, and Kanban systems. Support cycle counting as needed.
- Order Fulfillment: Implement and execute efficient pick and pack processes to fulfill customer orders accurately and on time.
- Resource Management: Develop daily plans for required lines, manage resource allocation, labor, and overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and optimize strategies for daily, weekly, and monthly shipment lines.
- On-Time Delivery: Focus on achieving 98% or above on-time delivery to customers, meeting monthly goals.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions for process optimization.
- Transaction Management: Ensure accurate transactions and records of orders shipped, maintaining proper organization and storage of materials in shipping. Responsible for inventory accuracy and reconciliation.
- Compliance: Manage shipping processes to ensure accuracy and timely delivery while adhering to shipping regulations, trade compliance requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supply Management: Oversee the supplies replenishment process to ensure sufficient materials are available for picking, packing, and shipping sales orders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely shipments are met as per promised ship dates.
- Safety and Compliance: Lead and enforce safety protocols and best practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Coordinate required reporting and activities in shipping, including record retention, end-of-month reporting, and customer-defined priorities.
- Team Development: Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Proven experience (3 years) in shipping or related field,
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of receiving, stockroom management, shipping procedures, and inventory control systems. Understanding of supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Abilities: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for shipping and logistics operations. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends.
- Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
- Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
- The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office
- Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
