You will use your resources to recruit top talent and build high performing teams. In this highly visible role, you’ll lead the commercial banking business development program, assist team members with complex account relationships, and guide less-experienced members with credit policy and complex financial arrangements. Engaging your team and creating a caring culture are critical to the success of your commercial bankers and their clients.
You will develop new business, work with senior lenders to maintain existing relationships, identify opportunities and solutions, and evaluate credit requests. You will serve as the clients’ primary link to all financial services across the bank, including Treasury Services, International and Trust; and you’ll facilitate operational problem resolution across department lines.
You will strategically build partnerships across the bank. You’ll motivate and guide team members in consultative conversations that drive financial solutions for clients to support long-term success. You’ll execute this strategy by developing and supporting key internal partnerships, and ensuring accountability through regular dialogue with team members.
Job Description
The Commercial Banking Market Manager is primarily responsible for the direct sales of financial products to new and existing commercial clients. This individual must have adequate knowledge of the Commercial Banking application, underwriting approval processes in order to properly direct opportunities. This individual is responsible for managing and growing portfolios, which include the largest most profitable and typically the most complex relationships; coordinates the lending activities of a team of commercial banking loan officers

How You'll Spend Your Time
You’ll serve as a resource to a team of commercial bankers in the areas of marketing, new business development, and loan analysis and servicing.
You’ll oversee annual department objectives, provide input on our operating plan, and help implement department programs to comply with organization requirements.
You’ll call on complex commercial accounts to develop new relationships with prospective clients, cross-sell products and services, and retain existing clients.
You’ll participate in community and professional activities to enhance our image and expand your network of business contacts for development of new business.
You’ll partner with credit on the approval, documentation, and booking processes. Analyzing and evaluating credit requests, writing loan commitments, recommending appropriate risk rating, and issue declinations.
You’ll provide input to leadership regarding negotiation of loan proposals, analysis of credit requests, prepare loan commitments, and recommend appropriate credit grades. You’ll make oral presentations to loan committee and provide back-up support to team members with loan committee presentations.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 10-12 years’ experience in commercial lending or 14-16 years’ equivalent experience.
