Context: This role will support the innovative NC Integrated Care for Kids (NC InCK) model, a 7-year, $16M model funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This role will serve a critical role in leading Program Coordination for NC InCK, which launched services in January 2022 and ends in December 2026.
Occupational Summary
Plan, coordinate and lead activities related to North Carolina Integrated Care for Kids stakeholders; develop, coordinate and advise on strategy related to major partnerships. Supervise program coordinator, interns and student teams.
Work Performed
- Support planning, coordination and administration of activities of NC InCK’s governing bodies (Partnership Council, Family Council and Youth Council), as well as NC InCK internal and external events.
- Maintain and implement procedures, processes, services, and systems related to each governing body and NC InCK event, including maintenance of charters or other group documentation, completion of incentive payments, and tracking meeting attendance and engagement. Train employees in proper methods and procedures and ensure correctness of work.
- Plan and elevate agendas for each Council to Executive Team for review ahead of each governing body convening. Lead recruitment of new members for each body and lead and facilitate each Council meeting with direction from the Managing Director and other Operational Leaders.
- Make operational and programmatic recommendations regarding the maintenance and support of major partnerships central to the successful achievement of NC InCK strategies and objectives. Develop, coordinate, and advise staff regarding program partnerships.
- Coordinate public relations and communications activities including conceptualizing and writing newsletters, promotional materials, resource publications, press releases, grant applications, ads, and fliers with direction from the Associate Director of Strategy and Operations. Develop and maintain plans and schedules for the release of publicity materials and key NC InCK events. Audiences will include NC Medicaid beneficiaries, guardians, health care providers, core child service providers, and care management entities.
- Ensure effective communication and organization by managing contact lists, monitoring the NC InCK email account, maintaining documents and calendars, and developing and instituting systems as needed to support team operations.
- Serve as a leading coordinator reporting to the Associate Director of Strategy & Operations. Coordinate and make programmatic recommendations related to integration of InCK operations with core child services like early childhood, behavioral health, schools, or child welfare workgroups.
- Liaise with other programs, offices and departments such as NCDHHS, UNC Health System, and key Duke Departments like Duke’s SOM and Public Health Management Office (PHMO) to coordinate program business and to accomplish program objectives; interface with external organizations as appropriate to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of NC InCK full-time Program Coordinator, interns and student teams.
- As needed, monitor and evaluate program components for effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative research techniques; investigate trends and elevate recommendations on modifications to improve NC InCK program effectiveness.
- Foster an environment of growth and support through providing technical and administrative support as needed, planning opportunities for engagement, and promoting collaborative learning opportunities.
