The at Boise State University invites applications for a Lecturer 1 position who has industry experience in the field of cybersecurity and cyber operations.
We seek a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in online teaching to support the asynchronous online CORe courses as part of certificates, BS/BAS Cyber Operations and Resilience, and MS Cyber Operations and Resilience degrees which were launched in the Fall of 2021. This program operates in a unique structure, so while there is some teaching, a significant portion of time will be spent supporting adjuncts and students. All of our courses have been professionally developed and are delivered via Canvas. This is a non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will teach at least two courses per semester. They will also help with curriculum development and redesign. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to be creative and help create new classes for the CORe program, using their industry experience. Faculty in the CORe program work very closely with students and mentor them in different capacities.
While this position supports students and faculty in an online environment, we do ask that candidates applying for this position be willing to relocate to Boise, ID in order to fulfill campus and industry partner needs locally.
Desired start date is February 24, 2025 (Negotiable). Courses operate in 7-week cycles and the successful candidate could start in either 1st or 2nd 7-week session of Spring Semester.

The CORe program works with non-traditional, online students to provide cybersecurity education to fill the urgent employment and workforce development needs in Idaho and beyond. The program partners with various state, private and federal entities to provide students with real-world cyber experience. The CORe program teaches in a high enrollment model, where enrollment has exploded since the launch of the program. The CORe program runs year round, operating during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

Minimum qualifications:

Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field -OR- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field and current enrollment in a graduate program to be completed within 18 months of hire.
Preferred qualifications:

Salary and Benefits:
Salary - 12 month contract - $65,000 - $85,000
