The Automation Engineer I is responsible for the software design and implementation, and support of automation and process control systems projects including new installations, modification, and customer support. Activities are heavily focused on-site at customer facilities. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Manufacturing (not required) or equivalent experience
Experience: 3-5 years working around electrical equipment as a licensed electrician
Valid state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Travel: 25-50%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM, Monday- Friday.
Schedule may vary and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays. All Automation Engineers will participate in an afterhours on-call rotation schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implementation of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
Collaborate with internal and external customers to determine system requirements
Software installation, start-up, and commissioning services
Specifying and purchasing of hardware and software as required
Perform system maintenance and troubleshooting
Provide customer training on commissioned systems
Prepare comprehensive documentation including system architecture, design specifications, commissioning reports, user manuals, and as-built drawings
Generate performance reports and provide insights to clients on system efficiency and energy savings
Analyze energy use data and identify strategies to optimize consumption
Able to work efficiently in a remote role with no direct supervision
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
