Position Overview:
In this critical and strategic role, you will be responsible for safeguarding Lavu Inc.’s assets and minimizing risks associated with credit card payments, while driving innovation in risk management. As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will lead efforts to prevent fraud, mitigate loss, and ensure regulatory compliance, aligning these strategies with the company’s overarching goals of delivering secure and seamless payment solutions. You will manage risk assessment, merchant documentation, transaction monitoring, and portfolio-wide risk assessment with a commitment to operational excellence,collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with the executive team and external partners (Visa, MasterCard, Sponsor Banks), you will ensure that risk management strategies align with Lavu Inc.’s commitment to growth, trust, and industry leadership. Preference will be given to applicants in the Tampa, FL area, who will work in office.
Key Responsibilities:
Merchant Portfolio Risk Management: Lead the risk assessment and monitoring of merchant applications to ensure compliance with credit guidelines, while proactively identifying and mitigating high-risk factors. Foster a collaborative environment to enhance risk oversight.
Fraud Prevention and Detection: Develop, implement, and enhance fraud detection systems and alert mechanisms across portfolios. Spearhead initiatives to identify emerging fraud patterns and coordinate fraud investigations with relevant stakeholders, empowering teams to take a proactive stance against fraud.
Risk Compliance and Control: Act as the Compliance Officer for AML and KYC, ensuring robust adherence to regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, Visa, and MasterCard. Establish control measures that not only meet compliance requirements but also drive operational efficiency.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay at the forefront of regulatory changes, interpreting and implementing card processing regulations and industry standards. Collaborate with executive leadership and external partners to develop procedures that minimize risk, financial loss, and reputational exposure.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Lavu Inc.’s executive leadership team to achieve key business and strategic goals. Foster strong relationships with sponsor banks, card networks,and industry organizations to stay ahead of regulatory changes and market trends.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on risk metrics, fraud incidents,chargebacks, and compliance, providing actionable insights to improve risk management processes. Use data-driven analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Innovation in Risk Strategies: Stay ahead of industry trends, particularly in payment security and fraud prevention, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce cutting-edge risk mitigation techniques. Lead innovation initiatives that align with Lavu Inc.’s commitment to delivering secure, customer-centric payment solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in the payments industry, with a proven track record in risk management and fraud prevention.
- Deep knowledge of credit card payment systems, including transaction authorization, clearing,settlement, and regulatory compliance (PCI DSS, AML, KYC).
- Expertise in analyzing financial data, fraud trends, and regulatory requirements, with a demonstrated ability to implement strategic risk solutions.
- Proficiency in advanced risk management tools and data analysis software such as SQL, Excel,and fraud detection platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence decision-making at the executive level
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner) are preferred.
Preferred Competencies:
- Expertise in fraud detection technologies and credit risk models for e-commerce merchants.
- Strong relationships with key stakeholders in the payments industry, including card networks and financial institutions.
- Deep understanding of chargeback and dispute processes, along with experience coordinating fraud investigations with law enforcement.
