About the role:
Scality’s G&A team is looking for a dynamic and proactive EMEA General Accountant. The EMEA General Accountant works in close collaboration with the Finance Director EMEA-APAC, the G&A team, the Sales Operations department and other Company’s department teams.
The EMEA General Accountant will provide effective support for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, tracking and processing financial transactions for the EMEA entity. The EMEA General Accountant also supports the Finance Director in the monthly and annual management reporting. This role includes in particular the accounts payable cycle and a significant part of the accounts receivable cycle. The EMEA General Accountant will also be a privileged point of contact to support teams in their daily operations.
The EMEA General Accountant can as well have to handle finance and accounting side projects in collaboration with the different teams involved.
The EMEA General Accountant will work in a multicultural environment where English is the primary language. The role involves working with different people in different time zones (essentially Europe and Americas).
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
French entity accounting and operations:
· manage the accounts payable cycle, including booking invoices, reviewing approvals, preparing payments, reviewing the accounts payable, preparing end of month entries and reconciliations
· contribute to the accounts receivable cycle including reviewing and sending invoices, managing customers information associated with orders received, booking entries, preparing reconciliations, collecting receivables
· prepare banking and credit cards reconciliation
· ensure financials accuracy and compliance and work proactively with Company’s departments to get the necessary information and approvals and to get policies implemented
· support Company’s teams with necessary information for their operations
· review and approve expense reports and integrate with the accounting
· assist the finance Director in monthly closing.
Financial management
· prepare reporting and contribute to analysis with the Finance Director
· track spending on specific topics
· reconcile accounts
· preparing cash balance
Customer success
· The EMEA General Accountant will contribute to customers success in ensuring the A/R cycle and answering customers questions about their accounts or billing.
Administrative support
· handling mail and filing
· performing operations ad-hoc tasks
Other
· Identify process improvement opportunities, propose improvements and implement them in collaboration with the relevant departments
· Contribute to ad-hoc projects
Skills:
● Graduate with specialty in Finance or Accounting
● 3+ years of relevant professional experience in an Accountant or Financial role.
● English fluent
● Autonomy, Adaptability and ability to multi-task in a faced-paced environment and to juggle with deadlines
● Very good problem-solving abilities and ability to get the answers needed from the relevant people
● Ability to be “hands-on” and driven by delivering accurate and complete sets of data and analysis.
● Conscientious and attention to detail in order to provide accurate financial data
● Excellent communication skills, the EMEA General Accountant will be in contact with various departments inside the company and in direct contact with customers and suppliers.
● Experience with online tooling. Experience with Sage 100C, Salesforce, Maxio (Revenue Management platform) is a plus.
● Excellent knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Package.
● Experience in the Software or Tech industry is a plus.
