We deliver unbiased news to inform our viewers and allow them to form their own thoughts about the day’s news. This role works with the editorial and production teams to develop live news programming that meets network priorities and expectations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Work with the executive producer and senior producer to develop live news programming that meets network priorities and expectations
- Coordinates and times live news show
- May write and produce content
- Writes open for show and teases
- Organizes program elements; back times the show and works with production crew to organize necessary technical means and personnel requirements to accomplish the task
- Oversee visual elements to add production value including producing visual components to use on set
- Works with producers, writers, editors, reporters and production crew to execute production
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Creative track record demonstrated through prior news producing and production projects
- Proven writing skills for television news/feature producing
- Strong editorial skills and news judgement
- Ability to multitask
- Solid social media knowledge
- Strong leadership skills to interface with co-workers and our diverse community
- Proven time-management skills.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- At least 5 years of experience in television production as a line producer in local and/or network news
- Experience producing/shaping stories at all stages of development from pitch to air
- Experience with iNews editing system, a plus
