As Figma’s People Partner in the region you’ll be a key player in building processes and programs to support our People Operations strategy during a dynamic and high growth phase in Japan and APAC. You’ll partner closely with our leadership and management teams in Japan, Singapore and Australia, and support them in growing and developing our teams. You will also leverage your expertise in building out policies and processes, to ensure we are able to scale our People Operations in a compliant way in the region, partnering with our centralized teams in the US and EMEA.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our hubs in APAC, Singapore, Tokyo, or Australia. It is a hybrid role and you will be expected to travel regularly to our hubs.
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Be our People Partner on the ground to build out our HR structure in Japan, Singapore and Australia and future markets. Help to design and implement localized policies, processes, and benefits programs.
- Partner with our global centralized teams in EMEA and the US on all things related to recruitment, total rewards, talent development and operations
- Collaborate with and coach managers on people-related matters, such as organizational/team development, employee relations, etc across all our APAC locations
- Advise and coach employees of all levels on matters relating to work development, engagement, conflicts, and more.
- Bolster our company culture in all interactions by modeling and instilling our values and promoting a culture of healthy communication.
- Work collaboratively with other People Partners to provide consistent and cohesive execution of HR programs such as performance management, DE&I initiatives, compensation/promotion cycles, and talent development.
- Work alongside the greater People Ops team to contribute insights, data, and feedback on core people programs and employee engagement. Also to maintain security, process and documentation for audits
- Collaborate with our Workplace to ensure compliance with governance on Health and Safety related matters
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- At least 5 years experience in a relevant People Ops/HR role in a rapidly growing company - if you’ve worked with US Headquartered companies, even better!
- Experience working in HR/ Teams as a People Partner or manager. Tech or startup experience a plus.
- Strong and broad capability across HR competencies, including employee relations, performance management, coaching, change management, compensation, compliance, and program development.
- Superb oral and written communicator to many different audiences; you “read the room” and can be trusted to message anything with care and confidence.
- Detailed and discreet--you are a rock-solid partner across the org, and people know they can trust you with sensitive information.
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Fluency in Japanese
- Experience with HRIS & ATS systems (bonus if you have used Greenhouse and Workday)
- Passionate and pragmatic champion of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout all people programs
- Love for building and executing HR processes during a time of high growth with a creative/ optimistic approach to your work
- A roll up your sleeves mentality with excitement to research and learn what you don’t know
