We’re excited to grow our Talent team with a unique role! We’re looking to hire our first PhD Recruiting expert to support Figma’s ML engineering growth as well as spearhead brand new programs for this early career talent team from the ground-up. In addition, we’re looking for a recruiter who can flex to support our high priority and senior talent coming through our M&A channel. You’ll operate in a full-lifecycle capacity, own our first-ever PhD hiring strategy, create intentional research programming, and own the M&A talent channels. You’ll be a highly strategic partner to our leadership team, working on essential roles across the business.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting processes for all PhD ML/Research roles including full-time and internships
- Partner with engineering leaders to develop the first PhD strategy including conference involvement, research papers, university labs, professor connections, and creative outreach strategies
- Operate as a subject matter expert, being a direct extension of our ML teams and primary touchpoint for candidates from initial outreach through the offer stage, ensuring a top notch candidate experience
- Spearhead Figma’s first PhD intern and full-time program, working cross-functionally with an expansive list of key stakeholders
- Be the point of contact for all talent coming through our M&A channel, offering a high touch candidate experience, partnering with our Corporate Development team on process improvements, and collaborating directly with our C-Suite team
- Continuously show up as a leader on the team from how you partner with leadership, set up a thorough strategy from scratch, build intentional programs, to closing a unique profile of candidates
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 6+ years of full-lifecycle technical recruiting experience in a fast-paced environment
- 2+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience focused on AI / ML PhD roles
- Deep experience working with PhD/research communities and strong knowledge of the ML market
- Strong track record of setting up conference presence as well as professor, university, and lab partnerships (travel required)
- Demonstrated success in hiring top technical talent at a premier tech company and/or high-growth startup
- Demonstrated success partnering with Executives to navigate high priority, complex, and fast-paced candidate and offer scenarios
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience working with talent through an M&A specific channel
- Used Figma’s products
Pay Transparency Disclosure
If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.
Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.
