About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Network Administrator with extensive experience in enterprise network configuration, upgrades, and support. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our IT Operations team to ensure our networks are stable, scalable, and secure. This role involves managing our wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), and organization-specific network configurations across multiple sites throughout the US.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise with implementing, configuring and maintaining our FortiGate, Cisco, Junos, and Cisco Meraki (MR, MS, MX). The ideal candidate will also have expertise with components of SASE including SD-WAN, NGFW, ZTNA, CASB, & SWG.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and provide technical expertise to ensure our networks are secure and stable.
- Collaborate with network and data circuit vendors to proactivity support and maintain these relationships.
- Support legacy and new network infrastructure hardware.
- Perform routine patching and firmware updates on switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and associated hardware.
- Set up LANs at new locations, adhering to existing network standards.
- Plan and execute network upgrades to replace legacy hardware infrastructure.
- Create technical diagrams and documentation, including network assessments, capacity planning, design documents, implementation plans, configurations, and change management.
- Monitor network performance and availability.
- Provide support during and after hours for network-related outages, performance, and stability issues.
- Support demo and integration lab owners and environments by providing network expertise on successfully implementing an optimized and secure environments.
Qualifications & Interests:
- 5+ years’ experience implementing and supporting multi-location enterprise networks.
- 5+ years’ experience implementing and supporting on-premises to cloud network infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
- 3+ years’ experience disaster recovery planning and implementation for network infrastructure.
- 3+ years’ enterprise wireless network solutions and management.
- 3+ years’ network monitoring and management tools including Logic Monitor, SolarWinds, & PRTG.
- 3+ years’ designing and implementing high availability solutions for critical network services.
- Extensive experience with FortiGate, Cisco IOS, Junos, and Cisco Meraki (MR, MS, MX).
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate network tasks.
- Strong understanding of QoS policies and their implementation to manage network traffic effectively.
- Strong understanding of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) components, including SD-WAN, NGFW, ZTNA, CASB, and SWG.
- Strong experience with IPv6 implementation and management.
- Strong experience with load balancing technologies and techniques.
- Proficiency in managing DNS and DHCP services.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
