About this role
Newmont is undergoing a significant transformation in its strategy and changing expectations of its leaders, the way work is defined, how roles and structures are designed, and how work and people are matched based on individual capability. The Total Rewards function plays an vital role in supporting Newmont’s transformation through the implementation of people systems and total rewards practices align with our organizational strategy and company values. A key piece of the work of the function will be in the form of projects designed to further the transformation.
Effective Portfolio Management is therefore a fundamental and key aspect for the success of enterprise-wide projects designed to create and support this organizational transformation. The Director, Portfolio Management, Total Rewards will manage a portfolio of enterprise-wide total rewards transformation projects in parallel, from planning through to supporting implementation.

What will you be responsible for?
The Director, Portfolio Management, Total Rewards will manage total rewards and people systems projects using defined methodology and practices to deliver required outcomes of quality, timeliness, and budget.
Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
Growth Strategy / Governance
- Use approved methodology to define project vision, objectives, scope, and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders.
- Define the work, roles and responsibilities for the project team and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, resource allocations and budget estimates.
- Identify and assess potential risks; develop mitigation strategies to address and minimize the impact of unexpected issues.
- Manage project resources, including people, consultants, and budgets for project efficiency.
- Identify and leverage industry best practice.
Operations Excellence
- Define project quality standards and establish quality control processes.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management and stakeholders on project status, issues, risks, and mitigation, and outcomes.
- Advise project lead on alternative paths, reevaluating resources, scope, and relevant issues.
- Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making within the project team.
- Conduct a post-project evaluation to assess successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
Communications & Change Management
- Support company, Business Unit, and site communications, change management and training objectives through effective portfolio management of Total Rewards and other assigned transformation projects.
- Provide a structured approach to managing communications and change within the organization, ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly and effectively with the support and understanding of all stakeholders.
- Build a coalition of functional team experts and specialists to support change efforts.
Commercial
- Develop project budgets.
- Report regularly on changes or updates to budgets and timeline of project.
- Track delivery of financial outcomes of projects.

Education:
- B.S. Degree In Business, Human Resources or related field
- Preferred: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)
- Preferred: Project Management Professional certification (Advanced Proficiency).
- Change Management fundamentals.
Experience:
- Diverse experience managing complex and dynamic global total rewards programs.
- Experience managing total rewards programs across multiple countries or regions with an understanding and ability to work across different regulatory environments, cultural considerations, and market practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading project/program portfolios that have enterprise-wide reach with high impact and high risk, preferably in a complex global matrix organization.
Skills and Abilities:

- Can identify the difference between special and systemic cause.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Total Rewards for a global organization.
- Advanced proficiency in compensation and benefits, such as salary benchmarking, job evaluation, benefits administration, and compliance with local and international law.
- Advanced proficiency in design and effective management of total rewards programs.
- Advanced proficiency in Project Management software tools.
- Advanced proficiency translating complex information in varying forms (verbal, presentation, and report) to varying levels of business.
- Competent level of proficiency in presentation skills.
- Advanced level of proficiency in managing reporting and presetting.
- Advanced proficiency in the use of data analytics to develop action plans and initiatives.

- This position is located in the Denver Corporate office.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $138,240 to 164,160. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
