Inside the Role
As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for managing renewals, building and maintaining client relationships, and supporting the Commercial Sales Team in marketing commercial risks. Your role will involve utilizing your expertise in commercial insurance products to educate clients, make coverage recommendations, and ensure exceptional service delivery. Additionally, you will contribute to team goals by providing leadership with suggestions for best practices and supporting efforts to retain and grow our existing book of business.This is a DTFS Band 92.

What You Drive at DTFS:
- Manage renewals by tracking, following up on, and completing renewal business through various communication channels (text, phone, email) to achieve production objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and future clients, as well as carrier partnerships, to support business growth.
- Market commercial risks with multiple carriers to assist the Commercial Sales Team in securing new business.
- Educate clients about their insurance options using a client-focused and needs-based approach, making coverage recommendations as needed.
- Provide support to leadership by offering suggestions for best practices to achieve team goals.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of various commercial insurance products from multiple carriers.
- Communicate with customers regarding all aspects of their account service needs, including policies, endorsements, audits, proofs of coverage, and cancellations.
- Conduct new and renewal marketing to carriers, ensuring competitive coverage options for clients.
- Support all efforts related to account retention and growth of the existing book of business.
- Handle claims in the absence of an agency claims coordinator or in response to catastrophic events.
- Verify that all policies are bound with insurance companies in writing before or on the policy's effective date.
- Invoice all new business and renewal policies accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain updated client and policy information in the agency management system.
- Contact insured parties as needed to collect outstanding balances according to established procedures
Knowledge You Should Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of related professional experience
- 2+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance products and industry practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and agency management systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service and contributing to team success
Exceptional Candidates Might Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- Experience with Applied Epic
- Active Insurance License
