Role Summary
The Senior Media Strategist is both a subject matter expert in integrated media as well as a data-driven marketer with an analytics background. As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term media strategies and is responsible for executing, optimizing, and reporting on our paid media plans ensuring alignment with overall business goals. This role serves as the frontline internal media expert and demonstrates the ability to influence across marketing and cross-functional teams within the commercial organization. The Senior Media Strategist will lead the strategic planning and daily management of our media agency partners across brand and performance marketing.
Key Duties
As the subject matter expert in media, function as the leader across strategy, planning, and reporting across brand and performance media, demonstrating a holistic understanding of the media ecosystem and how channels work best together.
Proven ability to develop long-term media strategies that are informed by consumer insights, culture, past campaigns, and business inputs to deliver on brand goals and objectives such as brand consideration, preference, and revenue growth.
Exercise considerable initiative and analytical skills to develop campaign reporting that distills complex datapoints across channels and objectives into a clear narrative that highlights key learnings and actionable insights.
Demonstrate ambition to ensure we are at the forefront of innovation by uncovering beta opportunities with key partners, seeking out emerging media trends, pushing the bounds of marketing mix modeling (MMM), and honing the measurement approach, including multi touch attribution (MTA).
Showcase a deep understanding of the role of creative within the media ecosystem influence creative development and evolution based on best practices media performance.
Network to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence teams across brand marketing, social media, growth marketing, sponsorship, creative and more to share best practices and showcase the impact of data, measurement, and reporting.
Bring analytical rigor to the role and demonstrate campaign performance across the funnel, from brand to performance, including retargeting strategies, attribution strategies, and
Manage budget planning, tracking, and forecasting to prioritize and build timelines to reach campaign goals.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
7 years of experience in media strategy, planning or buying experience (agency or client side), or relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Strong fluency with all forms of media traditional, digital, and emerging, including experience leading media strategies across paid social, search, display, video/linear TV, OTT/CTV, radio and OOH.
Deep analytical experience, analyzing full funnel performance and developing insights and actions to improve performance throughout all stages of the marketing funnel.
Strong experience writing media briefs, defining learning agendas, and measurement plans.
Able to take complex media challenges and communicate them to non-media audiences across the organization.
Comfort with budget management and tracking.
Experience with Google Analytics, Google Marketing Platform, Meta/Facebook Ads Manager.
Understanding of attribution models.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range
$117,500 - $176,300 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
