POSITION: Math Curriculum Implementation Specialist
LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver, CO
SALARY: $75,000 - $84,000 with up to six years of aligned experience
STATUS: 1 year fixed term contract– Full time, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position (Denver, CO)
START: July 15, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST is rolling out curriculum for our Middle School & High School programs. The Curriculum Implementation Specialist will be the champion of this implementation in order to ensure that 100% of schools implement this curriculum effectively:
Implement the vision for curriculum implementation in Math including systems for internalization of curriculum materials, lesson planning expectations, etc.
Plan the execution of curriculum training in collaboration with curriculum vendors and home office content directors.
Determine a lesson plan review process in conjunction with school leadership teams.
Conduct observations of curriculum use at all schools.
Support 2-4 strategically identified schools bi-weekly.
Facilitate content professional development throughout the year designed to improve curriculum implementation.
Consult with school directors and their teams on school implementation improvement strategies quarterly.
Partner closely with School Directors on curriculum and data analysis;
Present auditing results of implementation of curriculum Senior Leadership of the organization
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students
7+ Years of Professional Experience in Education
Central office leadership experience implementing curriculum at the school or central office level.
Master’s degree in Content or Education field preferred
Experience with strategic planning and implementation, resource development and allocation, personnel and faculty development, management, and initiation of change;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a school or charter management organization
5+ years of professional education experience
Experience in developing & leading curriculum implementation
Demonstrated curricular expertise
An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
Desire to personally and professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist educator
Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve
Depth of knowledge in curriculum and assessment across content areas
Proven track record of driving to results in content area(s)
Previous school leadership required, ideally in a high performing school context
Demonstrated excellence in leading professional development
Demonstrated experience in coaching and development of leaders
Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to, DSST’s mission and purpose, teaching and learning, and student success;
Experience in curriculum development and new program development; skill in developing curriculum and educational programs, both academic and technical educational programs;
Skill in identifying problems, analyzing data and making recommendations;
Skill in acquiring, allocating and managing resources;
Skill in developing strategic instructional goals and objectives;
