Overview
We are hiring a Production Maintenance Supervisor for our Northfield campus, which includes the Campbell Mill, Ames Mill, and Distribution Centers. The Production Maintenance Supervisor is a front-line leader responsible for leading Production Maintenance Mechatronic Technicians in support of daily production. The Production Maintenance Supervisor drives maintenance key performance metrics by effectively scheduling planned work events and ensuring reactive maintenance events are addressed on time. Additionally, the Production Maintenance Supervisor is a liaison between production leadership partners and support groups to ensure maintenance events are coordinated within the allotted time and fulfill all food safety and supply chain demands. The Production Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for hiring, leading, coaching, and driving the performance of a maintenance technician team. This position supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices. The Production Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Manager of Maintenance and Reliability.

Work Schedule: Day shift, Monday – Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm role working onsite at our Northfield Manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Plan, manage, organize, schedule, and coordinate work activities of the maintenance department and contractors to meet production needs.
- Understand, analyze, and drive key performance metrics to ensure the highest level of equipment availability.
- Monitor the progress of maintenance activities to ensure assignments are completed.
- Direct department activities including supervising staff and resources, assigning projects, identifying, and communicating constraints, setting priorities, and conflict resolution.
- Act as a contact between production, engineering, quality, sanitation, PST, and maintenance to resolve equipment and maintenance issues.
- Work cooperatively as a part of the Maintenance Department leadership team to support preventive maintenance strategies, MRO excellence, department strategic plans, and other maintenance functions.
- Provide direction and supervision to direct reports, along with general administrative supervision of indirect reports.
- Interview, hire, oversee training, and conduct performance reviews.
- Enforce all Post Consumer Brands and Post Holdings policies and procedures.
- Assist in solving maintenance and repair problems, find solutions to crises, and plan crisis prevention.
- Serve as backup for other Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Manager.
- Assist maintenance staff in any area as required and handle assigned special projects.
- Provide input to engineering on equipment design.
- Assist in training production staff where maintenance input is needed.
- Plan, budget, organize, and coordinate building and equipment projects.
- Provide input to production scheduling to allow maintenance work on equipment.
- Assist in the development of new equipment and operating procedures.
- Set priorities for maintenance activities.
- Provide consulting and technical services to all company departments in areas of technical services and maintenance.
- All duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of plant maintenance or operations experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Other Characteristics
- Would prefer a minimum of 3 years related experience, with an emphasis in food processing/packaging. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to work closely with peers and internal customers to share responsibility and solve problems.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical operation of production equipment and use of maintenance and diagnostic tools.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to develop and understand strategic plans for long term department goals and initiatives.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and metrics to identify and improve performance gaps.
- Work with and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners to meet building goals.
- Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and take decisive action to overcome challenges and barriers to success.
- Mobile and able to take on broader assignments for additional development opportunities in other locations across Post Consumer Brands, preferred.
